Welcome to Unfiltered Beauty Bar and thanks for learning more about me- I can’t wait to do the same with you! I strive to be your ultimate destination for top-notch skincare and beauty services in the Capital District. I built this business on my love to connect with people AND an insatiable desire to perfect skincare. So, let’s get unfiltered, shall we?
An unconventional start. Fun fact, I’m a licensed practical nurse. That was my first chapter in caring for people and their health. While it met my need to nurture others, I realized I was still looking for something else. I wanted to create sustainable beauty–-oh and have a ton of fun doing it. So, I traded scopes for brushes and pursued my career as an esthetician. After graduating from the Aesthetic Science Institute in Latham in 2004 I spent 3 years fine-tuning my skills at Kimberley’s Day Spa (shout out to Kimberley and team, you’ll always have a place in my heart). I was off to the races, servicing thousands of faces…but it wasn’t enough for me.
An unstoppable feeling. During the pandemic, I was working part-time in esthetics and realized I wanted to do more. I’m an idea girl. I’m always thinking about and trying new things. The question of “what if” constantly gnawed at me, because I just knew that I could make a bigger difference and a better experience for people. So, I didn't keep a dream, a dream—I launched the Unfiltered Spa in June of 2021.
An unmatched passion. Seeing your dreams make it in the wild is unbelievably empowering. I 10/10 recommend it. I am extremely lucky to have an amazing supportive husband and family. Not to mention my dog Sophia and Cat Lola who are my world. But it is not easy, being a business owner is humbling! I’m so grateful for every challenge though, because figuring it out has supercharged my ability to serve and wow my clients with the most personalized beauty experience. I took every innovation, every lesson, every opportunity to rebrand and open the Unfiltered Beauty Bar in December 2023.
My expertise is in advanced aesthetics, laser hair removal treatments, facials, airbrush spray tans, permanent makeup, waxing, and a myriad of other services, I pride myself on delivering unparalleled care and results.
An unfiltered philosophy. Straight up, I believe that we live happier, healthier lives by being our authentic, beautiful, human self. I operate my business and my life with sincerity and my own blend of unbreakable optimism. And I genuinely believe skin is the gateway to feeling our best—nothing brings me greater joy than seeing my clients feel amazing in their skin.
