Albany County Rail Trail Bridge over New Scotland Rd. (SR 85) Tentative Construction Schedule and Detour Information
April 3 - Begin Removal of Existing Steel Bridge Superstructure
Removal of the existing steel superstructure is expected to take one month
There is a detour over Cherry and Kenwood Avenues during closures
Westbound: CLOSED
Eastbound: OPEN WEEKDAYS, 6:00AM-10:00AM ONLY. CLOSED ALL OTHER TIMES, INCLUDING WEEKENDS
May 1 - Demolition Complete, Construction Begins (Eastbound traffic opens on New Scotland Rd.)
Eastbound New Scotland Rd. (SR-85) re-opens to traffic at the bridge
Westbound New Scotland Rd. (SR-85) traffic, except for local traffic, business traffic and emergency vehicles, will continue to be detoured over Cherry Ave (SR-140).
Access to all businesses in the project area will be maintained throughout construction. Signs stating "Businesses Are Open During Construction" will be posted on both approaches to the work zone area for the duration of construction
Date TBD - Installation of New Bridge Superstructure
New Scotland Road (SR-85) will be closed for two weeks to install the steel superstructure for new bridge. Eastbound and Westbound traffic will be detoured during this time
October 31 - Substantial Completion
New Scotland Road (SR-85) is re-opened for two -way traffic. Rail Trail Bridge is re-opened.
